banner of the Republican Party to the White House, a party founded on the 2 H d$ Z* v1 A) V' Q8 q/ wvalues of self-reliance and individual liberty and national unity. 6 h3 d4 [3 U/ h. M- [# y * ` z3 C/ \. w. J1 E4 V0 FThose are values that we all share. And while the Democratic Party has won # M7 t0 y, ^+ [8 a$ d# ?. x) ca great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and ( q# x! J$ t3 _( M: T4 ]; A+ S8 I; H4 l4 J) jdetermination to heal the divides that have held back our progress.9 t0 v" q5 G" l1 V& o1 W

H8 ?* W* Cline to make their voice heard in this election except for one thing: Ann 8 y! w2 _; o$ u4 d& A W* V" LNixon Cooper is 106 years old.( R$ s8 O( g G" Z3 J0 j4 }5 l
. B& v3 d. i1 m, S+ c/ H
She was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were no cars 9 f' _( M- i' I' ron the road or planes in the sky; when someone like her couldn't vote for % F* l, E z! `two reasons -- because she was a woman and because of the color of her skin. ) u. f E( ^0 B/ d$ x! A man touched down on the moon, a wall came down in Berlin, a world was / p! A! f7 o4 C: K) |6 @* \* g! Wconnected by our own science and imagination.& g* c) }& f7 a6 ~

And this year, in this election, she touched her finger to a screen, and " l `4 f; s4 h+ e; p- t! d8 U
