A very good story

Jerry is the manager of a restaurant in America. He % W0 ^$ N; q: B) x7 C
is always in a ' t, Y, d2 p+ ?' y1 p
good mood and always has something positive to say." U8 p8 `+ E! a9 z2 H/ D
When someone would ask ( A2 Z5 C9 t" o4 d' n) ~
him how he was doing, he would always reply, "If I" @5 T+ @) X- A2 j
were any  better, I ) g( s' P3 D- Y
would be twins!"; ~/ @( ?1 |$ K* J2 t2 m
Many of the waiters at his restaurant quit their  jobs
5 J* O" [$ p; ~2 R& dwhen he changed
3 ~* F9 x4 R) S3 o- g# G" ~- U% I4 }jobs, so they could follow him around from restaurant4 I+ |3 V' z2 ]& R1 M1 c
to restaurant.
' W6 s* n5 c. t8 V( `6 b* d% K7 RThe reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of
  `" g! K  c/ c; Ghis attitude.   s/ U7 E$ n3 c5 t/ L
He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having
- C* e. U; Z/ s! ^) r. q3 n5 Ma bad day, Jerry " J) b, s% M% l+ k9 t3 b4 ~
was always here, telling the employee how to look on
8 J& f6 {: U/ Pthe positive side
! R' }/ l+ o  J% g: cof the situation.
. ^0 M9 g2 S1 g, ~; s% f4 K4 C. zSeeing this style really made me curious, so one day I) P' S5 D& G3 R' K" l6 R& c
went up to Jerry
; J. Z. }6 o& ?4 n# t- ~& ]: O+ Uand asked him, "I don't get it! # J- G0 u0 j& e
No one can be a positive person all of the time. How2 f* G" a% g3 P) k. w+ U
do you do it?"
8 y# L% R% [) f7 T6 ]6 ?, |+ N( qJerry replied, ( I: Z* m9 h+ z& J
"Each morning I wake up and say to myself, I have two
4 n2 @! Z; W6 B; Xchoices today. I
1 L4 S# J' m0 P7 H, U0 K# s3 Gcan choose to be in a good mood or I can choose to be
; M7 T) N; R3 @* r( a6 l$ oin a bad mood. I 3 z. u) o3 {. ]1 n. z& j9 G
always choose to be in a good mood. 3 v) ]2 H9 @# T6 }: c! y, A  N; K) H- l( I

! g6 V3 W/ m4 e1 o; qEach time something bad happens, I can choose to be a
# `2 h( @* M  i  V$ [/ {9 |victim or I can
5 M# f# \" o1 ^6 C4 q9 H& jchoose to learn from it. I always choose to learn from
' M) _3 M. \* s. C; Cit. Every time
1 w6 N. H% |/ {- N6 Q6 A# V) H. s  osomeone comes to me complaining, I can choose to4 V0 H" u" \  r- i
accept their
6 E5 Q1 E. M/ u/ \4 B- O0 Ocomplaining or I can point out the positive side of7 n; A1 c: `9 R, L! ]& y
life. I always & t+ U) A" q, l7 k2 E2 B  B9 ?
choose the positive side of life."
7 l: b7 o$ ?' W7 W3 Z( }9 p; P"But it's not always that easy," I protested.
: d" p- k' |; W% K"Yes, it is," Jerry said "Life is all about choices.
5 |% x  q, m8 x% T) C5 Z5 Z" `( ?When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a3 M5 N8 f1 w5 t, a. @9 `+ X
choice. You choose , y7 `" n9 R  U; b! `& L- A
how you react to situations. You choose how people3 ^$ A1 H5 d' l1 h. o7 i1 S
will affect your
! M( |9 J1 d9 L4 X" g  k. P$ wmood. You choose to be  in a good mood or bad mood.
8 k1 U& ]; q. s+ _It's your choice how + u& O  k* q7 V& v
you live your life."
" s  T; K8 `# o) [Several years later, I heard that Jerry accidentally 4 }+ d$ _: q7 e) r" b+ a
did something you are never supposed to do in the 9 G! Z! D. B( l; Y* h* e' q5 J
restaurant business: left the back door of his
; b1 J# t9 j. z4 n9 r  Wrestaurant open one morning and was robbed by three & F3 p& I/ t! y% `% ?( e2 W# b8 d6 L
armed men. While trying to open the safe, his hand,
% \0 _( K' j; A; @: `  Ishaking from nervousness slipped off the
( a- j/ N' v7 lcombination. The robbers panicked and shot him.
) @5 V! L% Q: g9 P  ]& _8 h) X* C& E: Z% F6 _

; s( J& Z  n5 h% BLuckily, Jerry was found quickly and rushed to the
8 j7 l3 \- m7 z; w" h' g+ \hospital. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of 5 C# K  ]; ~% t
intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital 1 l% k# S. S3 d+ D) H4 C
with fragments of the bullets still in his body.
5 }8 Z+ A# g2 t: H3 w" r4 V8 f4 M- ^- k- T' C4 O
I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. ) n: }% }1 s6 E- G7 B" t" i7 ~6 q8 H
When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were / f" v# K! s/ V  K3 g
any better, I'd be twins.
# W& j( Q- U& d. E# x9 K
! K+ i. ^: E( h& g" ?Want to see my scars?" I declined to see his wounds, 9 l3 D2 x5 N# u) F& a( ]
but did ask him what had gone through his mind as 7 {5 k) @  z7 e2 F4 o( _
the robbery took place.
* K7 a, ^4 q; |. v! D2 }  ]$ k0 A
0 T8 o1 a+ v( R1 a"The first thing that went through my mind was that & ]1 L2 K3 w. U+ C
I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied.
, E6 s: X! `/ ?0 T"Then, after they shot me, as I lay on the floor, I
/ Z; ~4 Q0 B6 O1 ~remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to 6 D% o6 A* I0 j  H1 \
live or choose to die. I chose to live." 4 h+ F  ^% ?  z" W. F. M0 S: A7 U
8 c; o) S1 S8 `! D: g/ Y8 q5 [
"Weren't you scared?" I asked. Jerry continued, "The
. B* P. h# h* x% |paramedics were great. They kept telling me. I was / Q2 H" H5 t5 Y, @2 a7 p
going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the - ~5 W- w0 C2 _2 R
Emergency Room and I saw the expressions on the
9 p4 @/ @) v! W* P# i9 kfaces of the doctors and nurses, I got really
! L7 Q2 _' j8 i( I1 lscared. In their eyes, I read 'He's a dead man.' I 7 Z, B; c8 x2 V( b1 d% o% M; a4 q
knew I needed to take action."
' Y' i5 v% M: F3 K2 G; V8 g) x"What did you do?" I asked. "Well, there was a big ! s6 w- u" I3 s. [$ g4 W) c. i
nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry. "She 4 D5 K. x8 }$ h3 h% F8 `5 z
asked if I was allergic to anything."
: m, U& w! N2 {0 w. a+ m
0 I" u% ]# z, ^. M! |5 Y
+ V5 |2 Z) r) W5 F4 J'Yes,' I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped . K0 r+ ~  t, w0 c6 P" G
working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep 6 l; @7 w3 @7 `2 ?  L1 c. U
  breath and yelled, 'Bullets!' Over their laughter, I
' i" K5 Y2 V' ]
9 m5 V* P! |) ?told them, 'I am choosing to live. Please operate on 2 r7 y' p( {. A# D7 k; C
me as if I am alive, not dead'."
* x/ Y) X" |1 j+ _9 V, [& h# hJerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but
# U. a. _; H! a# h4 ualso because of his amazing attitude. I learned from
9 \% C/ m8 R/ X, @; z0 r" Ahim that every day you have the choice to either 0 q" N; ?! ^- e! f# e# F" S* _
enjoy your life or to hate it. : u- ]0 C" D& }% a, r: C
The only thing that is truly yours that no one can : _2 u; z2 q) J2 u5 r: Y7 V
control or take from you-is your attitude, so if you , S3 `0 @+ R2 Y! n/ I
can take care of that, everything else in life
  H/ ?5 S, E' i9 g5 ~2 l% y% tbecomes much easier.
& i: V3 r8 m2 t6 }* o! ]* e# j' o$ T1 {* K0 j. W/ L4 A2 o7 A
Now you have two choices to make: + Q' |$ `& X  D  U
1. You can just close the browser now OR
% X# Q& I( K  ?( {: ^) {
) G- [4 |: d4 g2. You can forward it to someone you care about. : u* i; i2 `6 {
I hope you will choose #2. I did.

向我这么有耐性看的可是没有几个了。
