and was saved from all suffering and distress.
, o& c3 M  M' K6 f2 c' M观自在菩萨
) F+ o8 w: K' G6 d' d# e( W, F7 L行深般若波罗蜜多时
% a5 h/ K& _9 B1 B  j: d照见五蕴皆空度一切苦厄$ J0 s# w# B) ^; O1 m: m
Sariputra,
$ W+ D1 U1 C, j) H; Mform is no different to emptiness,! ?; n5 F/ Q. f* }
emptiness no different to form.# n2 ~3 g0 W3 p4 P1 h( @" H) Q
That which is form is emptiness,& x" o9 h+ J3 @) r+ A
that which is emptiness, form.
0 z4 M2 ?. i. w. S3 \8 `1 @舍利子- C- T( w- D' c7 {. M
色不异空空不异色
2 A3 O* g8 k: c. L+ H- h色即是空空即是色: [# c/ e4 r9 H& Z. G
Sensations, perceptions, impressions, and consciousness are also like this.
' {* V4 `9 y2 |9 a2 e5 i受想行识亦复如是; q8 S' F0 g8 w6 V' v, C9 E
Sariputra,
! W+ x6 L2 Y6 ?6 ]6 q; vall things and phenomena are marked by emptiness;
" V5 f6 ~; B) R6 W9 l  B+ d; `they are neither appearing nor disappearing,
, D4 o# Z7 U% l, Y+ N: l2 p# nneither impure nor pure,0 ]- {- t: }( p6 V1 A/ \; ]
neither increasing nor decreasing.
7 [* q' P1 ~2 c- _舍利子
8 e% _! q5 ]$ }( _- G是诸法空相不生不灭; M( G! h, q+ r
不垢不净不增不减( Z8 q% U  R3 q" y
Therefore, in emptiness,
- R$ Q8 B- N/ a6 `& |" a0 cno forms, no sensations, perceptions, impressions, or consciousness;+ ~- U) q1 A5 E: L
no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, mind;
. p5 c. i- }' O( |  |是故空中无色无受想行识& K+ ?6 ~$ \  B8 L6 R
无眼耳鼻舌身意
# N  L, f; N/ r3 F; q( P, E" Tno sights, sounds, odors, tastes, objects of touch, objects of mind;
- f+ v) L3 [- m& f" V4 k0 vno realm of sight up to no realm of consciousness;' D2 r3 w- `4 }* t+ j0 B7 c$ t) n
无色声香味触法& ~: r( r3 b9 W! w& H
无眼界乃至无意识界1 j0 O; ~, }" u2 l& x+ x
no ignorance and no end of ignorance,
8 H) O7 p0 F) }( U+ ]2 |and no end of aging and death;4 a# o% V. Q5 b& x, ~3 \- z
无无明亦无无明尽
* R0 `. M9 H, G0 w" d9 e4 ^乃至无老死亦无老死尽. z5 k6 q; `. w$ E$ `
no suffering, accumulation, cessation, or path;$ v9 j5 a; K: k, z
no wisdom and no attainment.
' z' G1 E6 b, v9 j+ P无苦集灭道无智亦无得; @; E) v! {: T7 C
With nothing to attain,' N0 M" u+ Z5 ?& K$ U: C
bodhisattvas- g, j; Z6 n) T6 H6 B1 @% i
rely on prajna-paramita,
+ X) K. h% ^) S. e) t# q( o# Yand their minds are without hindrance.) |9 d, R# H( i# @* }; J; l" B; h% X
以无所得故
3 S4 a' X, n' T7 [: {菩提萨陲依般若波罗蜜多故* g2 v, K; X! d& g
They are without hindrance,: M  e8 H0 o# g: A$ ?1 r
and thus without fear.: }% b% x# U1 k. t+ l
心无碍无碍故无有恐怖
) ~( I, a4 G# I/ N% o7 [) hFar apart from all confused dreams,
; N* S- A2 M: v, ?) Hthey dwell in nirvana.
  [" S) m- ~  E: k) m远离颠倒梦想究竟涅盘( M: Z) x$ d/ Y, C
All buddhas of the past, present and future
$ {' J. k& s4 D! frely on prajna-paramita,/ V3 E- [* p9 s
and attain anuttara-samyak-sambodhi.
6 y/ {. u1 J0 H* G5 n/ }8 W三世诸佛依般若波罗蜜多故
- h7 v9 _/ z2 W) g* i得阿耨多罗三藐三菩提5 H# D) [8 ]8 C; |5 A4 o$ o# ^& ?
Therefore, know that prajna-paramita0 H. o  R7 R5 q/ B6 `
is the great transcendent mantra,
9 `% i! N. `5 p) R( S$ c- y# ]/ r& X2 ^6 \the great bright mantra,
* F9 F, p3 W( I. |the supreme mantra,0 V9 x+ L- l' h! _
the unequalled balanced mantra,
6 O" M$ K( U! L' {; M+ \* U. B; |that can eliminate all suffering,
4 H0 o8 v1 _7 M( A; s/ [6 T; p: nand is real, not false.
( N6 X+ v1 H' V/ U8 R0 [$ o4 ~故知般若波罗蜜多
+ \: I2 F# R5 a: w# q4 e% a是大神咒是大明咒是无上咒
: |* \9 ]5 a* a5 A6 g3 }4 Q$ M9 A是无等等咒能除一切苦真实不虚8 F) M$ r0 b8 B$ D. T% U- b7 I. y
So proclaim the prajna-paramita mantra,1 K" K% P3 V( h( I9 Y" P
proclaim the mantra that says:
! j* {) d% {& r  h; G  `2 N故说般若波罗蜜多咒
3 e0 l+ y/ G" b6 ~! ~: _+ W即说咒曰
' P  A' e6 h: a  U' H0 Mgate, gate,
* T! F. o. v, u/ ]* D$ ]) @paragate,
* T" v. y* t: g, S3 Cparasamgate,
) y' W* K% E+ R" {% F; V0 Nbodhi, svaha!
2 y- Z0 P( M$ c- {揭谛揭谛波罗揭谛
6 `7 O& `4 t* Q) ]波罗僧揭谛菩提娑婆诃
! T  N# E. [3 O4 w' G9 c0 P/ p) oThe Heart Sutra of Prajna.7 e; ]# U/ _) T+ B' ~. ~; q
