此诗被误传为以泰戈尔的作品，其实第一段是张小娴所作.后来被一群台湾学生改编了(集體創作接龍 ).2003年《读者》杂志第14期上引诗，署名是泰戈尔.后以讹传讹传千千万万.(网上搜一搜: 张小娴世界上最遥远的距离误传是英文诗或是泰戈尔所作的典故.

网上乱说这是泰戈尔的作品的人很多。用百度或Google搜一下。你可见千千万万个。这些人都是以讹传讹，自己没有审核过，在别处看到有人说是泰戈尔，便自己也说是“老泰”的作品。更有些说是“飞鸟与鱼”。其实只要在网上搜一搜泰戈尔诗的英译本看一看，便立即看出泰戈尔的诗根本不是这样的风格。

I wonder who determines what can be considered as 最佳答案 at 百度, and whether this person knows enough English to judge.难道百度知道的主编好坏英文也分不出吗？
Note: 这误传现以传入外国的语文论坛。有些中国留学生把这诗录入了外国的语文论坛。(e.g. literature on-line)  有些非英语母语人事也以为这是泰戈尔的作品，也继续传出去，越传越多。
你只要找一个真正的泰戈尔学者问一下，或是给这诗他/她看看便可知。切不要问那些说懂其实不懂的人！
更有些人开个博客，贴上泰戈尔的作品，把这个也贴了上去。把它说是”飞鸟与鱼“。其实 ”Stray Birds" (飞鸟集) 上根本无此诗。风格也不同。

Farther, further, longest, or widest?
Some people raised the question of whether "farther" or "further" should be used in the translation for "最遥远的距离". People who are for "further" pointed out that some dictionaries claim that both further and farther can be used for distances. Supporters for the use of "farther" pointed to writing style guides, such as
"The Little Brown Book"
that stipulates "farther" is for distance, and "further" is for degree.
Some pointed out that neither further nor farther is the right choice. There is no such thing as a far or near distance, but a "long" or "short" distance. Besides, what is meant here is a gap between two objects. "最遥远的距离"should. therefore, be translated either as "the longest distance" or the "widest divide."

我不是针对楼主，或是说这诗不值得欣赏。只是在霹谣, 把这个不是泰戈尔的作品的消息传出去。
网上误信这是泰戈尔的作品的人非常多 (以数万，数十万计)，以讹传讹，误传如瘟疫一样的快速漫延出去。

就这论坛以有多个！
